My Learning strategies

First, I seek the materials related to the topic. Secondly, I read material that relates to the third material, namely News story structure: News Writing (news writing rubric) and I try to understand the material by reading carefully and seriously. While studying and reading the material, I listened to my favorite music on YouTube because it made me more enthusiastic about learning. Then after I finish reading the material I usually have to repeat it to remember and make sure I understand the material if there is nothing I will discuss with friends or lecturers. Finally, I take important notes and do the assigned tasks.

 

Synopsis

According to Dianne Smith, MJE (2010), author of “Introduction to Journalism”, state that the inverted pyramid is the primary form of news writing which places the information in the story in the order of decreasing importance. News briefs are very concise stories, generally between two and four paragraphs, which give very basic information about an event or situation which merits coverage but does not require a full-blown story. The news writing style is the prose style used for news reporting in media such as newspapers, radio and television. News stories also contain at least one of the following important characteristics relative to the intended audience: proximity, prominence, timeliness, human interest, oddity, or consequence.

 

Reflection

Having read the material entitled " News story structure: News Writing (news writing rubric)". I now realize that when making news, one must pay attention to the rules of writing and the characteristics of the news. Most importantly, in News writing is very important to pay attention to the rules of writing when you want to write a news. I have significantly developed my skills in news writing subject. However, I have not sufficiently improved my ability to make and write news properly. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to write news according to the writing rules so that it can produce news that is interesting and liked by readers. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because I did not too proficient with writing news, I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good writing techniques in making news.
