 My Learning strategies

First, I seek the materials related to the topic. Secondly, I read material that relates to the first material, namely Journalism: Introduction, History, The profession, Present-day journalism and I try to understand the material by reading carefully and seriously. Usually I study accompanied by a glass of water and before studying I usually have bread for breakfast so I can focus on studying because I can't really eat breakfast with rice, so I only eat a piece of bread. Sometimes when I’m studying, I'm listening to a song from YouTube. Then after I finish reading the material I usually have to repeat it to remember and make sure I understand the material because I can't understand it if I only read it once. Sometimes I also note the important points of the material. Finally, I finished understanding the material. Usually after finishing my brain-draining learning I watch videos on YouTube and sometimes my little sister asks me for help to teach her when there are questions she doesn't understand.

 

 Synopsis

According to Brian Duignan (2020), author of " Journalism: Introduction, History, The profession, Present-day journalism,” states that Journalism, the collection, preparation, and distribution of news and related commentary and feature materials through such print and electronic media as newspapers, magazines, books, blogs, webcasts, podcasts, social networking and social media sites, and e-mail as well as through radio, motion pictures, and television. The word journalism was originally applied to the reportage of current events in printed form, specifically newspapers, but with the advent of radio, television, and the Internet in the 20th century the use of the term broadened to include all printed and electronic communication dealing with current affairs.

Reflection 

Having read the article entitled "Journalism: Introduction, History, The profession, Present-day journalism". I now realize that journalism is very important to learn. Most importantly, I have learned that journalism is developing as the era is getting more advanced and more media can be applied, such as previously only using print media but can now be accessed via electronic media and the internet. Journalism is not just about collecting news, gathering facts and reporting on current events, but more broadly. I have significantly developed my skills in the field of journalism. However, I have not sufficiently improved my ability in the field of journalism because I still have a lot to learn and practice. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about journalism in order to improve my skills in the field of journalism, especially in writing. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me in this 6th semester to practice my writing skills, especially in making thesis later. Because I did not too proficient with writing articles, news and others related to journalism I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about the world of journalism and the next material to come.
