My Learning strategies

First, I seek the materials related to the topic. Secondly, I read material that relates to the tenth material, namely Using Photographs: Writing Captions and I try to understand the material by reading carefully and seriously. While studying and reading the material, I listened to my favorite music on YouTube. The reason was because it made me more enthusiastic about learning and not to be sleepy while studying while fasting. Therefore, listening to music makes me more excited. Then after I finish reading the material I usually have to repeat it to remember and make sure I understand the material and I will also note the important points of the material. Finally, I finished understanding the material and do assigned tasks.

Synopsis

Smith Dianne & MJE. 2010. Introduction to Journalism, state that Photograph or photojournalism is a particular form of journalism that employs images in order to tell a news story. It is now usually understood to refer only to still images, but in some cases the term also refers to video used in broadcast journalism. It collects, edits, and present for news material for publication or broadcast that creates images in order to tell a story. Captions are often the first element of a publication to be read. Captions are an important part of journalism. The captions should be accurate and informative. In fact, most readers tend to look at the pictures and captions of the story before deciding whether to read the story for themselves. It should be written in a consistent and concise format so that the press can push photos for publication without delay.

  

Reflection  

Having read the material entitled "Using Photographs: Writing Captions". I now realize that writing caption photography is very important in journalism, because it can tell a story that will attract readers. Most importantly, I have learned that photography captions cannot be written carelessly, but must be in a consistent and concise format so that they can be published on time. In addition, the caption written must be factual and informative so as not to mislead the reader, damage the authenticity of the photo, and reduce the reader's trust. I have significantly developed my skills in writing captions subject. However, I have not improved my ability to write a good captions. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to make and write good and correct captions. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because I did not too proficient with writing captions and how to make correct and interesting captions I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good writing techniques in making captions from various sources.
