My Reflections
Reflection:
Having read
the article entitled "Journalism: Introduction, History, The profession,
Present-day journalism". I now realize that the field of journalism is
very broad, not only about making news and reporting news. Most importantly, I
have learned that journalism is developing as the era is getting more advanced
and more media can be applied, such as previously only using print media but
can now be accessed via electronic media and the internet. journalism is not
just about collecting news, gathering facts and reporting on current events,
but more broadly, such as having to pay attention to how to write news such as
using good language and not offending various parties, the use of grammar must
also be correct and according to the rules. I have significantly developed my
skills in the field of journalism. However, I have not sufficiently improved my
ability in the field of journalism because I still have a lot to learn and
practice. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about
journalism in order to improve my skills in the field of journalism, especially
in writing. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very
useful for me in this 6th semester to practice my writing skills, especially in
making thesis later. Because I did not proficient with writing articles, news
and others related to journalism I will now need to hone my writing skills. As
a next step, I need to learn more about the world of journalism and the next
material to come.

Having read the material entitled "A matter of facts: The News Values and Elements". I now realize that in making news, one must pay attention to the many elements and values contained in the news. Most importantly, I have learned that News is that part of communication that keeps us informed about events, issues and changing characters in the outside world. News contains opinions and facts. I have significantly developed my skills in the news value and elements subject. However, I have not sufficiently improved my ability to make good and true news. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to make good news, based on facts and attract readers' attention. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice writing skills and get actual information. Because I did not too proficient with writing articles, news and others related to journalism I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good writing techniques in making news from various sources.

Having
read the material entitled " News story structure: News Writing (news
writing rubric)". I now realize that when making news, one must pay
attention to the rules of writing and the characteristics of the news. Most
importantly, in News writing is very important to pay attention to the rules of
writing when you want to write a news. I have significantly developed my skills
in news writing subject. However, I have not sufficiently improved my ability
to make and write news properly. This means that I have to continue to practice
and learn a lot about how to write news according to the writing rules so that
it can produce news that is interesting and liked by readers. This skill will
be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice my
writing skills. Because I did not too proficient with writing news, I will now
need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good

Having read the material entitled " News Gathering and Interviewing: Conducting the Interview". I now realize that in a news gathering, we must conduct an interview with the informant and must pay attention to good interview preparation. Most importantly, I have learned that when we want to do an interview we must pay attention to careful preparation so that the interview goes well. In addition, it is also important to prepare questions for the interviewee and maintain behavior during the interview such as avoiding asking questions that are too personal. I have significantly developed my skills in the news gathering and interviewing subject. However, I have not sufficiently improved my ability to gather news and prepare good and true interviews. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to gather news and prepare for an interview like preparing interesting questions so that you can do a good interview and get the desired results. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice writing and speaking skills. Reflection: (Background) Research: Investigative Reporting and Other Methods in News-Gathering) (Meeting 5)
Having read
the material entitled "(Background) Research:
Investigative Reporting and Other Methods in News-Gathering)". I
now realize that doing background research is necessary and important to do
before conducting an interview. Most importantly, I have learned that before
compiling questions to ask during the interview, it is necessary to do
background research, either on the topic to be discussed or about the people we
will be interviewing and also as journalists we should do investigative
journalism where journalists investigate deeply one interesting topic. I have
significantly developed my skills in background research: investigative
reporting and other methods in news-gathering subject. However, I have not
improved my ability to do background research and investigative journalism.
This means that I have to do background research both on the topic and on the
people who will be interviewed so that they can formulate questions easily.
This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for
me to practice writing skills. Because I did not proficient in writing and
compiling questions and background on news. I will now need to hone my writing
skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good writing techniques and
news gathering techniques in making news from various sources.

Having read the material entitled "Feature Writing: Feature Leads, Bodies, and Conclusions". I now realize that Feature stories are stories about people and what they do. Most importantly, I have learned that feature writing is used extensively in magazines, newspapers and online media. It covers a story in depth and is meant to captivate the audience's attention for a specific purpose by looking at the story from a different angle. Moreover, in feature writing it is important to pay attention to the lead feature because it draws the reader into the story and makes them want to read every word. I have significantly developed my skills in the feature writing subject. However, I have not improved my ability to write a good feature. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to properly create feature leads, bodies, and conclusions. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because I did not too proficient with feature writing and how to make correct and interesting feature leads, bodies, and conclusions. I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good writing techniques in making news from various sources.

Having read
the material entitled "Writing a personality profile and a
news feature" I now realize that creating and writing
a personality profile is very important before making a feature story. Most importantly,
I have learned that in writing personality profiles and news features, it is
very important for us to know how to write personality profiles and news
features properly and correctly so that the news we present can attract the
attention of readers and can improve our writing skills. I have significantly
developed my skills in writing a personality profile and a news feature
subject. However, I have not improved my ability to write a personality profile
and news feature. This means that I have prepared or wrote the correct
personality profile so that the news produced is based on facts and can attract
readers. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very

Having read
the material entitled "A Matter of Opinion: What an Editorial Does

realize that an editorial is an article that presents a newspaper's opinion on
an issue. Most importantly, I have learned that editorial It reflects the
majority vote of the editorial board, the newspaper's governing body is made up
of editors and business managers, and the Personal column differs from
editorial in that it is the opinion of the author rather than the collective
opinion of the newspaper staff. They are signed, or lined. The style can be
formal or informal, depending on the subject. I have significantly developed my

Having read the material entitled "Review writing: analyzing a movie review (Reviewing a movie/an art form)". I now realize that a review is not a report. Its primary function is to be critical. Most importantly, I have learned that a review contain factual information on which the writer’s opinion is based, though it the focus should be on the elements the reporter found to be worthy of mentioning. I have significantly developed my skills in review writing subject. However, I have not improved my ability to write a good review. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to make and write good and correct review. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because I did not too proficient with writing review and how to make correct review I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good writing techniques in making captions from various sources.
Reflection: Using Photographs: Writing Captions (Meeting 11)
Having read the
material entitled "Using Photographs: Writing Captions". I now
realize that writing caption photography is very important in journalism,
because it can tell a story that will attract readers. Most importantly, I have
learned that photography captions cannot be written carelessly, but must be in
a consistent and concise format so that they can be published on time. In
addition, the caption written must be factual and informative so as not to
mislead the reader, damage the authenticity of the photo, and reduce the
reader's trust. I have significantly developed my skills in writing captions
subject. However, I have not improved my ability to write a good captions. This
means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to make and
write good and correct captions. This skill will be essential to me as a
learner because it is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because

Having read the
material entitled "Advertising: Creating an Advertisement ". I now
realize that advertisement is a text that aims to announce something to be of
interest to many people and so that a product is known to all the general
public. Most importantly, I have learned that advertisements can create desire
for certain products and services through appeals, many of which are propaganda
appeals, which they use to entice you for your money. I have significantly
developed my skills in advertising subject. However, I have not improved my
ability to make a good advertising. This means that I have to continue to
practice and learn a lot about how to make and write good advertising. This
skill will be essential to me as a learner because it is very useful for me to
practice my writing skills. Because I did not too proficient with make an
advertising and how to make correct and interesting advertising I will now need
to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to learn more about good
writing techniques in making an advertising from various sources.
Reflection : Synopsis:
Having read the
material entitled " Creating a survey: Sell an ad for school publications
". I now realize that a survey is a research method used for collecting
data from a predefined group of respondents to gain information and insights
into various topics of interest. Most importantly, I have learned that the data
is usually obtained through the use of standardized procedures to ensure that
each respondent can answer the questions at a level playing field to avoid
biased opinions that could influence the outcome of the research or study. I have significantly developed my skills in
creating a survey subject. However, I have not improved my ability to make a
good survey especially in creating a survey sell an ad for school publications.
This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot about how to
make good a survey. This skill will be essential to me as a learner because it
is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because I did not too

Reflection : Writing for Broadcast, Analyzing Radio News, Analyzing Television News (Meeting 14)
Having read the
material entitled "Writing for Broadcast, Analyzing Radio News, Analyzing Television
News ". I now realize that Broadcast journalism,
both for radio and TV, is quicker paced. Broadcast media are immediate,
bringing news from the scene into viewers and listeners’ homes. Most importantly,
I have learned that Television has the added impact of being visual. Viewers
can tune into their local news programs at scheduled times or they can tune
into any number of 24-hour news programs on cable. I have significantly developed
my skills in writing for broadcast subject. However, I have not improved my ability
to make a good broadcast especially in analyzing and writing radio and
television news. This means that I have to continue to practice and learn a lot
about how to write good broadcast. This skill will be essential to me as a
learner because it is very useful for me to practice my writing skills. Because
I did not too proficient with write broadcast and how to make correct a
broadcast I will now need to hone my writing skills. As a next step, I need to
learn more about good writing techniques in writing broadcast from various
sources.
